Disposition: Nina is bold and lives her life to the fullest, savoring everything with a zest for life that some see as “too much”. She loves excess, whether it's emotion, food (especially waffles), fine clothes, or the people she cares about, she can’t ever have enough and she isn’t quiet about her passions. She’s also naturally charming, despite being loud, shameless, often crude, and a huge flirt you cannot help but like her, feel drawn to her.
Raised in a world where things are often pushed into boxes, seen as black or white, Nina does eventually adapt to seeing the world as a grey, to understanding there’s more to each story like many teenagers do as they go out and explore the world. However, a big catalyst is falling in love with Matthias, who is from a country that is filled with people who want her kind dead and was once sworn to kill people like her. Matthias taught her that all Frejdans aren’t cruel monsters but a people brainwashed by fear and ignorance.
While she finds when innocent people are hurt or taken advantage abhorrent, she has no problems committing crimes like manipulating or stealing (or even killing people), especially if it means helping her gang or her fellow Grisha.
Nina is fiercely loyal to her friends and comrades and forms those kinds of attachments easily. It goes with how she doesn’t live her life in half-measures. She’ll do anything for the people she cares for, her people, readily showing them affection and support when they need it. She took jurda parem knowing full-well what the consequences would be, knowing she has almost zero chance of survival or living free again, but doing it anyway to save her friends from their own certain deaths. And by extension, she loves herself and the way she is and she does well not to let many make her feel insecure. She's confident in the way she looks, the way she can use her charm, wits and looks to get what she wants and the way she can make people feel, in her own power. But there are times that she does feel insecure which is embarrassing for her so showing weakness is something she rarely allows herself to do.
She might be loyal to her country, Ravka, and her fellow Grisha, putting herself in danger many times to help them, save them but she is also willing to set that loyalty aside to be with the man she loves, to live somewhere that isn’t home if it means he’ll be safe too.
And while she might be all curves and laughter and sweetness, she’s also an incredible soldier. She never backs down from a fight or gives up and she can fight, her normal Grisha powers make her dangerous but combined with what she can do with the jurda parem enhanced powers, she’s lethal (see powers section for more).
Suitability: Being Grisha gives Nina a lot of experience with powers/magic and stranger situations that many other people who lead "normal" lives might not be used to. Due to her own powers from being a grisha, she will adapt to whatever powers might arise with being gembonded. Because of her recovery from jurda parem addiction, so she has a good grasp on how to handle losing control of herself, her body and perhaps forgiving herself for it. As for sex? Despite her age, she's a very sensual person who enjoys physical contact. She was also contracted at a pleasure house in Ketterdam and while she did not sell her body there, there's no dobut she has experiences with being around kink and sexual encounters.
Condition upon arrival: Nina will be in fairly good physical condition, although there will be some lingering emotional issues with having lost the love of her life just before arriving and overcoming a jurda parem addiction. However, she will not mistreat the native NPCs, she subscribes, usually, to the old adage that you get more flies with honey.
Abilities:
She is Grisha but more specifically a Heartrender, they can manipulate the body on a molecular level. It requires her to have her hands free and clear line of sight (copied the next bit from the wiki so I don't leave anything out).
- Lungs: They can take the air out of a person's lungs and keep them breathing as long as they're in the Heartrender's influence. They can also crush a person's lungs.
- Heart: They are able to induce heart attacks, slow the heartbeat to the point of loss of consciousness, or quicken the heartbeat to dangerous speeds.
- Hampering healing: They can slow the healing process, rather than quicken it.
- Influencing emotions: By encouraging the release of certain chemicals in the body, as well as controlling someone's pulse, Heartrenders can influence a person's emotions/feelings, calming them or even possibly exciting them.
She also has a very basic experience with Tailoring which means she can manipulate the way she or others look but because of her lack of experience, it's something that takes a lot of energy and only lasts a short while.
Due to her addiction to jurda parem, her powers were perverted, giving her the ability to control over the dead, allowing her to basically use inanimate bodies and bones as puppets. (This might be something that needs to be nerfed but y'all let me know)
She also has a proficiency for languages and can speak many.
